My name is Brandon Allen, I am a US Marine veteran and a former private security contractor. I spent four years in the Marine Corps, as a vehicle operator traveling the world and being able to see some pretty incredible sights. My first duty station was Okinawa, Japan. Back then in 2009-2010, I spent a lot of time exploring the island and sightseeing. My first deployment was to Afghanistan in 2011, where I spent 8 months. When I got home, I noticed that I was looking at everything through a very negative lens. I spent a lot of time isolated in my barracks room and I did not want to be engaged with my Marines. It had started to get worse once I got out of the military. Until one day, I was back in my hometown visiting friends and family and I saw a perfect sunset coming in, right behind an old grain silo. I happened to just snag a photo from an old phone I had, and that was when I had my first thought about getting into photography. Since then, photography and videography have been my passion and helped me get out of my shell. I love traveling with my wife, and of course my dog, to new places and taking new shots that allow me to express my creative side. Photography has helped me get back a small piece of what I was missing when I got out of the Marine Corps.
